The other option is the Milongas with Tango orchestra that play live for people to dance.

A bit of history about the city of tango

Born in the Río de la Plata in the 19th century, tango is a musical style that results from the fusion between African culture and the local cultures of the gauchos and native peoples, as well as the contribution of mainly European immigrants, Spaniards and Italian and Middle Eastern.

The elegant and passionate movements of tango show the blend of exotic cultures of these early tango dancers. The majestic melody of the music offers listeners a glimpse into the life of early Argentine immigrants. The tango then spread to the wealthier neighborhoods of Buenos Aires.

This type of dance continued to grow and develop, causing a sensation throughout Europe and America in the early 20th century. Argentina’s Golden Age (1930-1950) was a time of prosperity for the country and saw an explosion in popularity and new styles of Argentine tango.

In the 1980s, tango became popular thanks to the international recognition of several Hollywood movies. Today tango schools have been opened all over the world, and in 2009 UNESCO inscribed it on the List of Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

Wine tasting in Buenos Aires

Argentina is the largest wine producer in Latin America and the sixth largest producer in the world. Traditionally the wine is grown in the provinces of Mendoza, San Juan, La Rioja, and Catamarca. Salta has high altitude vineyards around 1800 meters above sea level. More recently, production began in Patagonia. Some famous varieties are Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Torrontés.
