We will take a modern ferry to go beyond the widest river in the world (Rio de la Plata), in fact Colonia is only 50 km from Buenos Aires, about an hour’s journey. During the guided tour of Colonia del Sacramento we will visit the historic center, which recalls Lisbon and is a mixture of Portuguese and Spanish architecture. We will take a ride on the tourist bus and visit the rest of the city as well as the beaches.

You may have lunch at an old Portuguese restaurant or another one with a view of the river. Finally you can visit the Portuguese museums or climb to 30 meters high on the lighthouse to appreciate the view of the city, the river and in the distance the modern city of Buenos Aires.

NB: This tour should be booked (ie buy tickets) in advance because Argentinians go on holiday during the high season (December, January, February) and Holy Week so the ferries become fully booked and usually there are no seats without advance.
